I contributed an article “Flying Around Building Sites” to the December issue of UP (the bulletin of University of Tokyo Press) as the ninth in a series of relay essays “On Receiving the University of Tokyo’s Nambara Shigeru Publication Prize.”
It explains the context in which I moved from the history of Ruskin’s reception to the study of Japonisme in architecture.
